This program – part of The Commonwealth Club’s series recognizing recipients of the Club’s 2020 Distinguished Citizens Award – honored the S. D. Bechtel Jr., Foundation. The program, held shortly before the Foundation’s December 2020 sunset, featured Foundation President Lauren B. Dachs, Environment Program Director Joya Banerjee, and Education Associate Program Director Arron Jiron. In an interview with Club president Dr. Gloria Duffy, they offered perspectives on the Foundation’s grantmaking approach, strategies for education and environment, and spend-down journey.
