Experiential activities keep students engaged and help them better understand new ideas. Embracing this approach, the Community Science Workshop Network supports sites across California that offer youth opportunities for hands-on experiences with science. The Mission Science Workshop was the first of its kind and opened in San Francisco in 1991.
Grounded in a mission of advancing science through creativity, imagination, and wonder, the Community Science Workshop Network provides students access to programming, in and out of the classroom, that demonstrates the lifelong importance of scientific questioning and learning.
The staff at Mission Science Workshop (part of the Community Science Workshop Network) believe that exposure to experiential, engaging science learning can enrich youth, encourage discovery, and provide new life chances. Learn more at http://cswnetwork.org.
