Accessing Knowledge Beyond 2020
In the final years of the spend down, the Foundation team made a concerted effort to disseminate the articles, reports, and tools that had been developed by staff and partners. In addition to building out the Foundation’s website, collaborations with field-serving organizations were forged to ensure ready access to knowledge assets post sunset.
Key among these was a partnership with Candid to create a Legacy Collection in IssueLab, one of the social sector’s largest open repositories. The Foundation’s collection contains more than 200 resources, including products addressing Environment Program and Education Program strategies, effective nonprofit and philanthropic practice in general, and responsible funder exits in particular.
This Legacy Collection will be maintained for ten years following the Foundation’s conclusion at the end of 2020. After that time, individual products in the collection will continue to be accessible via Candid’s IssueLab platform.
All self-published works by the Foundation have been openly licensed; each has been assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure that it will remain easily and permanently available.
