Alexis joined the Foundation in 2015 and is an associate program officer in the Education Program, with a focus on supporting the Character Initiative. Prior to joining the Foundation, Alexis worked with limited resourced families in Oakland Chinatown via AmeriCorps and two community-based youth development organizations. From this work, she brings nine years of experience supporting out-of-school-time programming through data-driven program design and staff development, coordinating community resources and partnerships, and facilitating participant leadership and self-advocacy to ensure student success. Alexis earned her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
