Hana joined the Foundation in 2014 as a Program Associate on the Education team. Her work focuses on supporting the Foundation’s grantmaking in Education Policy and Advocacy to inform sound policy decisions around the implementation of new math and science standards and character development. Before joining the Foundation, Hana worked as a personal injury attorney at Emanuel Law Group, a social worker, and a law clerk at the San Francisco and Santa Clara District Attorney’s Offices. She also conducted legal research for the Center for Education Policy & Law, and interned with several youth-focused nonprofits and the U.S District Court and Immigration Court in San Diego. She developed her passion for education when she coordinated YouthCares, an afterschool youth employment program serving immigrant youth. Hana received Bachelor of Arts degrees in French and Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. She serves on the Board of Directors of CORA (Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse).
